Lolo Jones, the winner of both the USA championships and the World Champion in hurdles was able to achieve her place with much effort as well as a lot of perseverance. Born to a single mother with five children, Jones had a difficult and difficult childhood. Her mother lived on the roads and inside the basement of a local church at times. A life of constant movement forced Jones to change schools and attend an entirely new school each year, until she began high school. Jones was able to move away from her mother and moved to Theodore Roosevelt to enable her to pursue her interest in track. Her family was split up throughout high school, so that she was capable of focusing on her academics. Jones received an award called the Gatorade track and field athlete of the Year award while at high school. As a student cellist, Jones was also part of her school's school orchestra. Jones was one of the top hurdlers in her first year of the college. Jones won the 100-meter challenge during the 2002 NCAA Track & Field Championship. She also was part of the winning team for the 100-meter relay. Jones was the winner of both indoor hurdles and the outdoor hurdles events at the NCAA Championship in 2003. The track career after she completed her studies in 2005, Jones started to train hard to pursue the track. In 2005 she won first in the Torino Memorial race, in 2006 she took the Heusden and Ostrava racers.
Born and raised within Cape Town South Africa Brandt immigrated with her family to Auckland New Zealand in her in her late teens. Brandt, discovered by local casting agents she was offered the leading character of Naevia on the Starz blockbusters Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena. Due to her collaboration together with Steven S. D Knight's and Sam R. Raimi's producers, she was an international star. She starred in the hit Netflix series Lucifer that ran for a six year run. She played the favorite Vertigo/DC comic book character Mazikeen. Forbes listed Lucifer as the top most watched show to binge watch in 2021. Brandt can next be seen alongside Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira in the 6 episode limited Walking Dead spin-off which airs in 2024. She will also be starring alongside Jason Ritter Anthony Carrigan and Chris Meloni in the adult animated series Captain Fall which airs July 2023 on Netflix. Lesley-Ann Brandt was born 2nd December 1981 in Cape Town South Africa. She is a talented New Zealand actress. Lesley Brandt moved along with her family and friends in Auckland New Zealand in 1999. She began her career in Auckland as a retailer, and was then made an IT management consultant. Lesley has appeared in several commercial advertisements after a few modeling projects. The actress graduated from her acting program in 2008 and continued to research Meisner's techniques. The first time she was seen in New Zealand was as a TV actor in Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt appeared in the New Zealand drama Shortland Street as a supporting visitor part. In a subsequent sci-fi adaptation This Is Not My Life she played the town of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt played Naevia in the series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. The character was later reprised as the role in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.
